The Hürtgenwald, as well as the municipality of the same name, are located on the northern edge of the Eifel and offer a variety of opportunities to spend the most beautiful days of the year there. Our farm is a former full-time farm. We have remodeled the stables and living area and now live here with ten horses, a dog and cats. The Raffelsbrand district is a purely agricultural settlement and has around 180 inhabitants. You can ride for hours right from the farm through varied forests and quiet valleys. The Eifel National Park and the Raffelsbrand high-altitude adventure trail (high ropes course) are on the doorstep, as are the Rursee lake, the beautiful half-timbered town of Monschau and the High Fens.

Sleep and feast in the heart of Nideggen. Our rustic brewery-style restaurant offers home-style cooking with freshly prepared seasonal specialties. The offer is rounded off with comfortable rooms directly on the market square. Large outdoor terrace and hall suitable for 60 people.

The apartment is furnished to a high standard. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, citrus juicer and kitchen blender. A crib and high chair can be provided on request, and most of the windows can be darkened with an electric blind. The terrace at the back belongs to the apartment. There is a covered and cozy seating area and a table tennis table. A charcoal barbecue including charcoal is available. Children are also welcome to play in the garden (e.g. badminton, soccer). The vacation apartment is located near a cycle path that invites you to go on beautiful tours.

Initially, there were two castles in Vlatten: the upper castle and the lower castle. While the lower castle has disappeared today, the upper castle has survived over the centuries. The ruins from the 14th century, especially the impressive round tower, are now part of the picturesque park. In the 19th century, the castle was converted into a representative manor house; later, the residential building and the farmyard were separated by a wall. The two-winged residential building was given a historicizing tower on the east side in 1908, and the castle changed hands several times over the centuries until it was finally bought at auction by the industrialist Julius Rüttgers from Berlin in 1882. He gave the castle to his daughter Emilie, wife of Major General Ernst Freiherr von Gagern, in 1883. The von Gagern family still live in the castle today. A well-known member of the noble family was Heinrich Freiherr von Gagern, the president of the first German National Assembly in 1848. However, he died three years before the castle came into the possession of the family. This left a unique character with many special features. Especially on the upper floor, the low ceiling height of the two-bed room reflects the age of the house. During the renovation and design of the vacation home, special attention was paid to the old construction method and treated with loving care. The Kölner Eifelhütte is one of the oldest buildings in the beautiful Eifel village of Blensexternal link. The hut is run as a recognized low mountain hut according to the rules of the German Alpine Club. The hut can accommodate up to 46 people, has a large garden and is open all year round. The rooms on the upper floor have bunk beds (23 beds, rooms with 2-6 beds, bunk beds) and running water. On the top floor are the large and small dormitories with a total of 23 beds. It has a breakfast room (24 people) and a seminar room for 16 to 30 people. It is centrally and quietly located and only approx. 250 m from the bus stop Parkhaus Laufenstraße. You can reach the market square in 3-5 minutes. You can look forward to modern facilities within old walls. The house was built at the end of the 19th century. The renovated 55m² vacation apartment has been ready since May 2020. The existing rooms have been almost completely gutted and rebuilt. A careful approach was taken to preserve the charm of the old house. Only the subfloor could not be renewed for structural reasons. The apartment is located on the second floor and is therefore unfortunately not suitable for people with disabilities.

The vacation apartment is located in a 200-year-old quarry stone building with 80 - 90 cm thick walls. The interior of the building was renovated and extended 70, 40 and just last year. There is plenty of parking space on and around our property. Bicycles can be safely stored. We have named our apartment "Biebes", which means butterfly. The Biebes is the symbol of our village and we use the name to express our connection with our home town. The house has a large garden which can be used by our guests. We take care of our property, but in some areas we also give nature its space, so that in summer we encounter a variety of real Biebessen. In the fall, a pair of squirrels collect the nuts. There are also predators at our house, as one or two pairs of magpies always nest in the large beech trees in the garden.
