The red sandstone cliffs in Nideggen are among the most popular climbing areas in North Rhine-Westphalia. Steep, reddish walls offer a variety of routes on the edge of the Eifel National Park. The rough sandstone provides good grip, while cracks and ledges ensure varied climbing. A place for anyone seeking peace, nature, and a challenge.
Do not alter the rock surface or create cracks and cavities in the rock, particularly by installing climbing anchors of any kind!
Only the marked access and descent routes may be used to reach the rocks and climbing routes! Leaving the designated paths, roads, and rocks is prohibited (e.g., taking shortcuts)!
Climbing routes end at the belay hooks! Climbing onto the rock outcrops is prohibited! (An exception is made for training and rescue exercises conducted by the Mountain Rescue Service at Effelsley.)
In rock face areas with bat winter roosts, climbing is permitted only from April 1 to October 31. The respective rock sections are marked or signposted.
