Where rock and water accompany you

The Eifelsteig is a 313-kilometer long-distance hiking trail that traverses the Eifel region in a spectacular fashion from north to south—from the coronation city of Aachen, where Charlemagne once resided, to the Roman imperial city of Trier.

Under the motto “Where rock and water accompany you,” the Eifelsteig offers a unique combination of impressive rock formations and babbling brooks—a defining feature that accompanies hikers throughout their entire journey.

The first four stages run through the Rureifel:

  • Stage 01: Kornelimünster – Roetgen
  • Stage 02: Roetgen – Monschau
  • Stage 03: Monschau – Einruhr
  • Stage 04: Einruhr – Gemünd
