At the end of Dechant-Brock-Straße, there is a children's playground. On the sides, there are linden trees and horse chestnuts, which are protected as natural monuments. In the year 1900, a cross was erected here. It can be assumed that at least the horse chestnuts were planted at the same time.

Natural monuments at the end of Dechant-Brock-Straße
At the end of Dechant-Brock-Straße, there is a triangular square that is used as a children's playground. On the left side, known as “Rothe Gasse,” there are 5 linden trees (Tilia platyphyllos), and at the back side of the triangle, there are 4 more linden trees, which are protected as natural monuments. The trees have trunk circumferences between 1.40 m and 1.80 m at a height of one meter and reach a height of 20–22 m. Originally, there were even 12 protected linden trees, three of which were cut down in 1974 on the right side of the triangle (Diepenlinchener Straße). In their place, 4 young linden trees were planted, which do not have protection status.
In the middle, in front of the back side of the triangle, there is a stone cross, flanked on both sides by one horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum). These two chestnuts are also natural monuments, approximately 21 m high with a trunk circumference of 2.25 m at a height of one meter. Originally, there were 4 protected chestnuts, two of which were cut down for safety reasons on December 13, 1991, to protect playing children. In their place, two young chestnuts were planted, which are not under nature protection.
The cross was erected in the year 1900. The inscription “O Crux, ave, spes unica” means: “Hail, oh cross, our only hope”. It can be assumed that the horse chestnuts were planted at the same time as the cross.
