Auf zum Nievesknipp [69]

The almost 4 km long hiking trail takes you through the beautiful Börde landscape.

Hergarten, the beautiful village between the Eifel and Börde, is the starting point for a short hike with many distant views. The 4 km long loop starts at the "Zum Hohen Schirm" hiking parking lot southwest of the village exit in the direction of Düttling. At first, the route goes slightly uphill and along the edge of the forest. The view of the Rhine valley opens up on the right. After crossing the district road, you reach the Bördeblick Nievesknipp.
"Knipp" means hill, the name "Nieves" could not be explained.
The route descends into the valley in two gentle waves. Parallel to the main road and past a refreshment stop, you return to the starting point.
