Loipe Eicherscheid

As soon as snow falls in the Eifel, the landscape is transformed into a winter paradise and you can go tobogganing, cross-country skiing or downhill skiing! The small ski resorts in the Eifel have many advantages for winter sports fans: short journey times, a family atmosphere, cozy huts and great opportunities for tobogganing and cross-country skiing. There are numerous trails around the Monschau region where cross-country skiers can let off steam, for example in Lammersdorf, Eicherscheid, Kalterherberg, Höfen and Rohren.

The "Eicherscheid" trail shown here is located between Eicherscheid and Huppersbroich and leads through the idyllic Monschau hedgerow landscape. Discover the Monschau region in winter and enjoy the clear winter air in a landscape covered in hoarfrost that glistens enchantingly in the sun. If the weather permits, there will be plenty of snow in Monschauer Land and the steep Rur valley with the adjoining forests and meadows around the Monschau villages will be transformed into a paradise for ski and snow fans.

In Eicherscheid, for example, there is an approx. 7-kilometer-long cross-country ski trail available to you if the snow conditions allow the use of trackers. The trail leads right through the unique hedgerow landscape of the Monschau region, which nowhere can be experienced as intensively as in the extensive meadows in and around Eicherscheid.
