Krummer Ast

As soon as snow falls in the Eifel, the landscape is transformed into a winter paradise and you can go tobogganing, cross-country skiing or downhill skiing! The small ski areas in the Eifel have many advantages for winter sports fans: short journey times, a family atmosphere, cozy huts and great opportunities for tobogganing and cross-country skiing. There are numerous trails around the Monschau region where cross-country skiers can let off steam, for example in Lammersdorf, Eicherscheid, Kalterherberg, Höfen and Rohren. The "Krummer Ast" trail shown here is approx. 8 kilometers long and is located in the south of Monschau near Kalterherberg on the German-Belgian border.

Discover the Monschauer Land in winter and enjoy the clear winter air in a landscape covered in hoarfrost that glistens enchantingly in the sun. If the weather permits, there will be plenty of snow in the Eifel and the Monschauer Land with the adjacent forests and meadows around the Monschau villages will be transformed into a paradise for ski and snow fans.

Three different circular cross-country ski trails with lengths between 5 and 11 kilometers are available to you in the Monschau-Kalterherberg area, for example, in appropriate snow conditions that allow the use of trackers.

• "Auf der Höhe" trail, approx. 5.0 kilometers,
• "Krummer Ast" trail, approx. 7.5 kilometers,
• Windhaag trail, approx. 10.5 kilometers,

The "Krummer Ast" trail shown here can be combined with the two trails "Windhaag" and "Auf der Höhe".
