Description

Circular hike / 7.7 km


The hike starts either in Abenden or in Nideggen-Brück. In this case, we start from Nideggen-Brück. We walk over the Rur bridge and then immediately turn right along hiking trail no. 57 to Abenden. The path leads along the Rur with a view of the red sandstone cliffs. A break is recommended in Abenden (halfway along the trail). A short walk through the small Eifel village is worthwhile. Then cross the Rur again and return to Brück on the other side of the Rur, still following hiking trail no. 57.

The red sandstone cliffs pose a natural risk of falling rocks. Please keep your distance from the edges of the cliffs and do not stay below them. Observe warning signs and instructions to avoid accidents and protect nature.
