29 circular hiking trails in the municipality of Simmerath: Hiking trail 27 - Dreitälerweg Distance: 6.7 km Starting point: Bachstraße parking lot in Simmerath-Eicherscheid


The idyllic stream valleys around Eicherscheid invite you to linger. The hike leads through the village center past the church of St. Lucia. Outside the village, the path winds its way into the Drosselbach valley. After leaving the stream, the Alsdorf miner's cross can be seen on the left-hand side of the path. Along the Belgenbach stream, you will come across the mill of the same name. The subsequent Holzbach stream accompanies the route back to the village.

    The idyllic nature reserves between Simmerath and Paustenbach invite you to discover them. The circular route begins at the church of St. Johann Baptist. After leaving the village, you come across the remains of the Westwall. The trail leads through nature reserves to the Paustenbacher Höhe with the Eifelkreuz. You return to Simmerath along the Kall and again over the Siegfried Line.
