Monschau is unique in many ways. The historic old town in the narrow Rur Valley evokes the era of the clothmakers in the 17th century.
Well-preserved half-timbered houses stand right next to the stately homes of the clothmakers. With its many different attractions, Monschau in the Eifel has something to offer in every season!

The villages around Monschau also exemplify the typical Eifel architectural style, whether they are the “Venndörfer” on the edge of the Hohes Venn high moor—such as Kalterherberg, Konzen, and Mützenich—or the “Federal Gold Village” of Höfen with its hedgerow landscape on the edge of the Eifel National Park.

The team at the National Park Information Center in Monschau’s Old Town is happy to assist you in planning your stay.

Our opening hours are

From April to October:
daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

From November through March:
Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
