Bluesaders live at the 9th Roetgen Blues and Rock Night
in the Bürgersaal, Roetgen

Blues is timeless – when you live it. This is exactly what the Bluesaders stand for, who will perform on November 13, 2027 at the 9th Roetgen Blues and Rock Night in Bürgersaal Roetgen. The band is connected to the traditional roots of blues but interprets the classics in their own way – with modern grooves, funky rhythms, and soulful expression.

Improvisation, joy of playing, and the intense interplay characterize the music of the Bluesaders. This results in an authentic yet modern sound – full of energy and feeling.

The core of the band comprises pianist Walter Jenniches and guitarist Ge Houfer, who have been performing together on stage for many years. The Dutch blues singer Mirjam Raehse-Dekker fits perfectly into the band with her voice reminiscent of Etta James and Big Mama Thornton. Dieter Kroppenberg contributes to the earthy sound with tenor and baritone saxophones as well as blues harp, while Andreas Kiesow on bass and Kurt Berresheim on drums provide the powerful groove.

With this concept, the Bluesaders have impressed at numerous concerts in the region, including as the opener of the September Specials at the Aachen Katschhof and at the Würselen Blues Night. The band proves that blues is still a vibrant and fresh music today: tradition-conscious, but never nostalgic, and open to new ideas, creative arrangements, and passionate improvisations.

The Bluesaders
Guitarist “Ge” Houfer and pianist Walter Jenniches have been a proven blues duo for over 50 years. Dieter Kroppenberg on tenor and baritone sax as well as blues harp perfectly rounds out the band sound with his stirring solos. The right groove is provided by the veterans Andreas Kiesow on bass and Kurt Berresheim on drums. Since early 2025, the Dutch blues singer Mirjam Raehse-Dekker has enriched the band with her wonderful blues voice.
Anyone who has experienced the Bluesaders at their numerous performances in the region, at the Karlspreis Live 2024, and at the September Special 2025 at the Katschhof knows that this is a band where passion, musicality, and a shared enthusiasm for vibrant blues are at the forefront
