Wanderparkplatz Am Tomborn
Rureifel tour in Stolberg-Breinig
The nature reserve Schlangenberg is characterized by trenches, spoil heaps, and tailings from past mining eras, with origins dating back to the Celtic and Roman periods. Every year, a unique display of flowers unfolds here. The approximately three-hour excursion leads over open areas, through varied forests, and is rounded off by the wide view from Schlangenberg over the traversed Voreifel region. Along the way, you will learn about the mining history through the visible archaeological sites. On the other hand, the unique galena flora is introduced, featuring the rare galena violet, along with explanations.
