Naturführung im Naturschutzgebiet Schlangenberg

Jetzt anfragen

The Schlangenberg nature reserve is characterized by trenches, pits and slag heaps from past mining times, the origins of which date back to Celtic and Roman times. Every year, a unique floral splendor unfolds there anew.

The excursion with nature guide Renate Ethen takes you across open spaces, through varied woodland and is rounded off with a sweeping view from the Schlangenberg over the Voreifelland. On the way, you will learn about the history of mining through the visible ground monuments. On the other hand, the unique galmei flora with the rare galmei violet is presented and explained.

The meeting point for the approximately 3-hour hike is the "Am Tomborn" / "Rüst" hiking parking lot in Breinig.
