"Unterwegs mit der Kupfermeisterin"

The copper master families were considered the wealthiest in the copper town of Stolberg. Family names such as Lynen, Pelzer or even Schleicher come up again and again when studying the town's history and are also closely linked to Stolberg's development as a business location.

Our tour guide Klaudia Penner, alias Katharina Beck, born in 1606 and wife of the copper master Leonhard Schleicher III, tells us what life was like at the time of the copper masters during this walk in historical garb. She takes the participants back to 17th century Stolberg and shares her life and everyday worries with them, providing information about her dear family and how to recognize a good worker. Katharina Beck takes the participants on a walk through the historic old town and lets them see Stolberg through her eyes. The wife of the copper master also provides her companions with the history of the picturesque copper courtyards, squares and churches and allows visitors to immerse themselves in her world.
