They were eradicated in the Eifel region in the last century, but could be successfully resettled since 1981. Chopped down willows, dams and beaver’s dens give proof of their proverbial diligence. Also the eagle owl was eradicated. Now it lives and hunts again in the woods and rocks of the Rur valley.
